While again waiting for gale-force winds to subside, this time in Le Castella (Italy) and having time in our hands, we made a movie of our travel along the coasts of Sardinia and Sicily. Turn up the volume and play it full screen! Enjoy!
Sicily – Continued
After our misadventures on the Egadi islands and Trapani, we could finally set sail again. Our first stop-over was San Vito Lo Capo, a small city that has become very touristic in the recent years. The beach is filled with bars and restaurants so we had some free live entertainment until very late at night […]
It’s not always sunny in Sicily
After a good but short night’s sleep in Porto Corallo, we untied our mooring lines and left the marina at first light for our crossing to Sicily. The different weather forecasts all showed not too much waves hence not too much wind, the moon was almost full; all conditions were gathered for a boring crossing […]
After two nights in Bonifacio we were ready for our crossing to Sardinia. We wanted to leave early in the morning as the wind was supposed to pick up later in the day. It’s not a long passage (about 15 NM) but the strait of Bonifacio is not known for being a peaceful lake. While […]
Corsica – The Movie
While waiting for gale-force winds to subside in La Caletta (Sardinia) and having time in our hands, we made a movie of the crossing to Corsica and the Corsican coast. We crossed from Saint-Laurent-du-Var to Saleccia. From Saleccia we went down the west coast of Corsica to Bonifacio. Enjoy!
Our Corsican journey started in Saleccia, west of Saint Florent and in the desert of the Agriates. Saleccia has many pluses on its side: the beach is crowded during the day but empty at night, there’s enough space to anchor, there’s white sand, clear blue water, and wild landscapes around it. We stayed there for […]
Crossing to Corsica
After cruising along the French Mediterranean coast, we stopped for a couple of days in Saint-Laurent-du-Var where Sarah’s parents live. We could relax and go on short sailing trips with Sarah’s parents and Sarah’s brother Vincent and his girlfriend Céline. It was nice to show them the boat in real life, and to take them […]
Throwback Thursday – Leaving Avignon
It was only 6 weeks ago that we were on the Rhone heading for the Mediterranean Sea but it feels like another life. Carl & Pia sent us a very nice little movie of us leaving Avignon. It’s nice to look back every now and then! Thanks Carl & Pia, we hope to meet you […]
French Mediterranean coast – The Movie
During our little pit stop in Saint-Laurent-du-Var we found the time to piece a little movie together of the French Mediterranean coast, from Port-Sain-Louis to Saint-Laurent-du-Var. After hearing the diesel engine run continuously for almost a month it was a delight to sail again!
The French coast
After repairing our rudder we went back to the marina of Port-Saint-Louis. We had to wait for the mistral to quiet down before we could head out to sea. In the evening we had an unexpected Danish party with Hans and Karen, and Carl and Pia (fest var meget hygge). The next days we got to […]
